A refugee said "I cannot go back to my country because of the following points: 1. Imprisonment and Persecution 2. Torture and punishment 3. Electric torture 4. Beating with the stick on the feet (corporal punishment) 5. threatening me to be killed 6. Lack of human rights organizations which can lobby against human rights violation in the country. 7. Threatening to abuse my family members. 8. Demolition of my house. Due to all that I can’t go back".

A new branch in Libya

THIS IS TO CONFIRM ARAYA HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATION HAS OPENED A NEW BRANCH IN BENGHAZI, LIBYA. 08/04/2011 ARAYA HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATION DECLARES IT'S AFFILIATION WITH THE YOUTH OF THE 17TH OF FEBUARY AND THEIR POLITICAL AND SOCIAL GAINS. IT REAFFIRMS IT'S RECOGNITION OF THE LIBYAN NATIONAL INTERIM COUNCIL AND IT DECLARES THAT WILL WORK THROUGH LEGITIMATE NETWORKS. THE ORGANISATION CONFIRMS THAT WILL IT WILL SATISFY HUMAN RIGHTS RULES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE LIBYA. AND IT WILL STAND BY EVERY VICTIM OF THE PREVIOUS REGIME AND IT WILL SERVE ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP THROUGH IT'S POSITION IN BENGHAZI
